I recently bought a 12" cast iron skillet w/rounded sides, and I like it very much, but it can be a bit too heavy to pick up & move around. This skillet is smaller and lighter, yet the square bottom equals a large cooking area, so it's perfect for browning/cooking meats or making pancakes, and the corners make it easy to drain off liquids. This skillet is quickly becoming my favorite, and I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

I love this skillet! I love ALL Lodge cookware. After I washed, dried it and did my seasoning it works great and no food sticks! The only thing I wished it had is the drain pours. But I think it's still a great pan. I also bought the glass lid which cost as much as the skillet. But I also have the grill pan like this one, and the lid fits as well. Heavy pan but we'll made that will last for generations. I highly recommend this item to any cast iron chef. Patty M

Great for cooking strips of bacon or two fish fillets together. Bought this a few years ago and it still remains on my stove almost every day. I cook everything in it. Cleaning is, well, you know, cleaning is a pain, but you get used to it after a while. If there are no animal products, I wipe it out with a paper towel. If there are animal products, I pour salt in there, wipe it out with a paper towel, and boil some water in it before adding another coat of neutral oil. Scrambled eggs is probably the most difficult thing to clean out, but I'm sure there are some youtubes on it.

I love lodge cookware for high heat searing and other cooking needs. This pan was a lot smaller than we expected. Consider the measurements are outside to outside dimensions and the pan side flare out from the actual cooking surface. We couldn’t fit 6 strips of bacon across this pan. I bought the larger size and it’s way better.

Yes, I bought a square pan just for the purpose of cooking bacon. I mean, it's a pain in the ass to cook bacon in a round pan. This way, I can cook more at a time. I love cast iron, and after shopping around for quire a while, this pan is the best quality for the best price. If you are considering it, buy it!

I decided to throw away all of our low quality pans and get three cast iron pieces: this one, a 12" round skillet, and a round griddle. We already had a cast iron dutch oven, and we have an instant pot. I have no regrets because it's nice to easily grab what I need, and I know it will be there until the day I pass it down to my children or grandchildren, so long as I take care of it. I love this pan. The square edges make it ideal for baking coffee cakes and the cast iron evens out the heat input so that the overly crispy corners don't happen. It's also great when you want to saute, grill or cook food that you don't want to be chasing around in a circular pan (such as home fries and carrots). Lodge has been American made for over a century, and it feels good to purchase something that has a life cycle here. It's very environmentally friendly because it never needs replaced and minimal carbon output occurs due to proximity, it supports wages for good jobs, and it gives you a daily dose of iron every time you cook with it (no joke!). I have owned several off brand cast iron pieces, and they don't have the resilience, the performance or endurance under normal conditions that Lodge does. It costs more money, but it's so worth it.

Compared to the 10.25 inch round skillet, this one will hold more bacon, and can cook 4 burgers, one per corner. I use it for everything, cooking for one and cooking for a few buddies while fishing or out and about

I can't believe we used teflon non-stick coated pans for so long! We switched to this lodge logic skillet several months ago and we are convinced that cast iron is definitely the way to go. No need to worry about toxic flakes in your food! Nice and heavy, really distributes heat well. Oven safe! Some of our favorite new recipes involve searing on the stove and then putting the entire pan into the oven to finish cooking. The pre-seasoning is not very good and I could smell it for the first several uses. Once you use it for a few weeks it starts to get a good non-stick finish to it. We use this for fried eggs and it works very well. Clean up is so much easier than our expensive stainless steel pans...I just use hot water and a vegetable brush, then heat it on the stove until dry. It turns out cast iron seasoning and care is quite an art and there are hundreds of people online that are happy to share their "secret" process. Don't soak it overnight or you could get some rust. Ditch the thin, teflon-coated pans with uneven heating and get a skillet. The price on Amazon was better than anything in town.

Love! I am a cast iron freak!! I only use cast iron, even though I have a glass top range!! I wanted something different than my round! This fits the bill, nothing sticks! (I did follow the directions and use a little oil the first time) This morning I made bacon and my press fits perfectly. It cooked up fast and crispy, just the way "Hubby" loves! I can easily see this fast becoming my go to pan. Lodge makes a great product, still heavy and not pitted like a lot of the new cast iron.

I needed a square cast iron pan for frittatas, and this in perfect. I couldn't find one in a store anywhere, and I was so glad to find it on Amazon. It is exactly what I want! Now I can make frittatas for the week, and cut them in to same sized portions more easily. I have several cast iron pans and I find this one is quickly becoming my favorite. For some reason, it heats more evenly, more quickly, and doesn't stick or burn like my other new cast iron pans. It cooks better after one seasoning that pans I've had, used and seasoned for months. It came quickly, in perfect condition and the price was great! I love Lodge pans in general, and out of all the ones I own, this is my favorite.
